Men’s Track & Field shines at the Maroon & Gold Invite

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven men's track and field team entered week six of its outdoor season by competing in the Maroon & Gold Invite hosted by Bloomsburg on Friday.
 
The Maroon & Gold Invite took place at Redman Stadium.
 
PSAC Qualifying Marks
Braedon Firanski (Discus Throw), Nathan Fetchkan (Hammer Throw) and Eric Zalar (Shot Put)
 
Track Highlights
The Bald Eagles swept the top three in the 1500-meter race with Jakob Rager finishing with a season best time of 4:02.94 in first, Jarrett Lee finishing second with a time of 4:14.72, and Skylar Small finishing with a personal best time of 4:21.58, finishing third.
 
Matt Reinard, who had a personal best time of 50.05 in the 400-meter, finished first.
 
Jorge Santana finished first in the 100-meter hurdles with a personal best time of 15.37, and Austin Kravetz finished third with 15.72.
 
Another personal best time of 1:57.47 in the 800-meter saw Ridge Snyder finish third.
 
Lucca Capparelli, who ran 22.68 seconds, finished third in the 200-meter dash. Capparelli also ran the 100-meter, finishing fourth with 11.49 seconds.
 
Also, in the 100-meter race, Jonah White finished fifth at 11.60.
 
The 4x100-meter relay team "A" finished third at 45.29.
 
Relay team "A" in the 4x400-meter finished second at 3:25.86.
 
In the 400-meter hurdles, Trey Wagner and Jacob Watson finished fourth and sixth with 1:10.76 and 1:03.34, respectively.
 
Evan Klinger and Ryan Webster ran in the 5000-meter race and finished at 15:59.10, with a personal best time of 16:32.02.
 
Field Highlights
After competing at the Penn Relays yesterday, Eric Zalar returned to compete at the Maroon & Gold Invite. He won the shot put with a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) throw of 47-03.75 and threw in the discus throw with a throw of 138-11, finishing second.
 
Braedon Firanski won the discus throw with a PSAC throw of 150-09.
 
Nathan Fetchkan competed in a pair of events. First, he threw in the hammer throw for a PSAC distance of 163-05, finishing, and then he threw in the shot put for a distance of 42-08.75, finishing third.
 
Shawn Hertzog won the high jump with a height of 5-09.75.
 
Chase Young leaped for a distance of 42-09.50 in the triple jump, finishing second, and jumped for a distance of 11.50 in the long jump, finishing fifth.
 
Carter Young and Kevin Taylor finished third in the javelin throw and the pole vault with a throw of 162-10 and a vault of 14-05.25.
 
Also in the long jump, Jaden Wright leaped for a distance of 19-09.50, finishing sixth.

The Bald Eagles continue to compete in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, April 26, at the Penn Relays hosted by the University of Pennsylvania. They will also host the Lock Haven Qualifier and Senior Day on May 3 at 10:00 a.m. at the Glen Allison Family Track & Field Complex.
