PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Lock Haven men's track and field team continues week six of its outdoor season by competing in the Penn Relays event hosted by the University of Pennsylvania on Thursday through Saturday.
The Penn Relays took place at Franklin Field.
PSAC & NCAA Qualifying Marks
Eric Zalar (Hammer Throw;
NCAA) and
Peter Bellomo (Javelin Throw)
Thursday Highlights
Eric Zalar started the Penn Relays for The Haven and took bronze in the hammer throw with a new personal best and program second-best with a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) and NCAA Division II throw of 200-01. That throw also sits in the top-10 in NCAA Division II.
Friday Highlights
Nick Bellomo,
Brennan Miller,
Josiah Schans and
Ryan Miller shattered the Lock Haven 4x200-meter record by three seconds, finishing in 1:25.77, beating the record that was set last year.
The 4x100-meter team of N. Bellomo,
Michael Lawrence, B. Miller and R. Miller qualified for the finals on Saturday for the first time in Lock Haven history with the fourth-best program time of 41.58, finishing second in the prelims.
The squad of Schans,
Matthew Muthler, N. Bellomo and R. Miller raced into the 4x400-meter relay finals with a time of 3:13.63.
B. Miller, Lawrence,
Aydan Summers and
Morgan Gavitt ran in the sprint medley relay and posted the fifth-best program time of 3:30.80.
Saturday Highlights
Highlighting day three of the Penn Relays was the 4x100-meter relay team of N. Bellomo, Lawrence, B. Miller and R. Miller taking bronze at the Penn Relays for the first time in Lock Haven history.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Muthler, Schans, N. Bellomo and R. Miller, which made finals on Friday, finished sixth at 3:14.99.
Peter Bellomo threw the javelin and threw for a PSAC distance of 187-06, finishing twelfth.

The Bald Eagles will also host the Lock Haven Qualifier and Senior Day on May 3 at 10:00 a.m. at the Glen Allison Family Track & Field Complex.
