LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven field hockey team will visit No. 11 Syracuse to open the 2025 season on Friday, Aug. 29. The game is set for 5 p.m. in Syracuse, N.Y.
The Bald Eagles will continue their opening weekend road trip by visiting Colgate for an 11 a.m. non-conference game on Sunday, Aug. 31 in Hamilton, N.Y.
The Haven finished 4-15 overall and 2-5 in the Atlantic-10 (A-10) in 2024, with three of its wins coming in front of the home crowd.
Melanie Beall returns as The Haven's leader in points, after racking up 11 with five goals and an assist. The Bald Eagles also return a strong back unit led by fifth-year goalkeeper
Kelsey Felix. Felix totaled 124 saves in 19 starts, while finishing with 19 and 18 saves in two breakthrough performances.
Syracuse enters the season as the 11
th-ranked team in the country after finishing 12-7 overall and 4-4 in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) in 2024. The Orange went reached the ACC semifinals following the regular season and earned a trip to the NCAA DI Tournament.
Colgate finished 2024 with a 4-13 record and 1-5 mark in the Patriot League. The Bald Eagles downed Colgate at home last season, 4-3, in a shootout.
