LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven men's soccer team scored three unanswered goals to overcome a second-half deficit and steal a 4-2 victory against Shippensburg at home on Wednesday (Sept. 17).
With the victory, Lock Haven improves to 2-2-1 and Shippensburg falls to 1-2.
The Bald Eagles scored a season-high four goals from four different players.
The Haven scored the game's opening goal in the third minute of action when
Kade Black fired a shot to the upper-right 90 off a rebounded shot from
Billy Lawrence (assist).
However, Shippensurg responded with goals in the 17
th and 30
th minute to take a 2-1 lead heading into the half.
Lock Haven responded in the 73
rd minute after
Danny Ogan collected his own rebound off a penalty opportunity and buried a bicycle kick.
Fast forward 11 minutes later and
Evan Jennings gave The Haven a 3-2 lead off the second assist of the game from Lawrence.
Javier Contreras Leon put the nail in the coffin by scoring Lock Haven's fourth goal on a breakaway opportunity set up by a beautiful lead pass from
Kyle Hoyt.
Black and Contreras Leon led the Bald Eagles with a combined six shots and Lawrence orchestrated the offense with a pair of assists.
Ethan Beck earned the victory in net and finished with four saves.
