CALIFORNIA, Pa. – The Lock Haven football team fell to host and eighth-ranked California (Pa.), 42-6, today (Saturday, Sept. 20) in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East-West crossover action.
The host Vulcans started fast and led 35-0 before the Bald Eagles found the end zone late in the first half. With 41 seconds left in the opening half,
Connor Foltz hauled in a 21-yard pass from
Jackson Ostrowsky for a Lock Haven touchdown.
Ostrowsky was 17-for-28 for 149 yards (2 INTs) and the TD.
Mekhi Watson finished with five catches,
Jake Roberts hauled in four receptions and
Justin Popovich made three catches for 47 yards.
Damir Green carried the ball seven times for 54 yards.
Markel Morgan led the defense with a game-high nine tackles and
Rocco Daugherty recorded an interception to lead the defense.
Rasu Wearing-Poindexter made eight tackles.
Cal quarterback Roman Purcell threw two TD passes and Bobbie Boyd, Jr. rushed for two scores to pace the Vulcans' offense.
With the loss, Lock Haven slipped to 1-2 (0-0 PSAC East) overall while the eighth-ranked Vulcans improved to a perfect 3-0.

The Bald Eagles will return home to host East Stroudsburg next week (Week 4) on Saturday, Sept. 27. The PSAC East opener is set for 1 p.m. Lock Haven is 1-0 at home after opening the season with a 16-13 victory over Glenville State on Sept. 6.
