RESULTS LINK – Gulden Invite
SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Lock Haven men's indoor track and field team competed at the Gulden Invitational at Bucknell on Saturday (Jan. 24). The Haven was headlined by Eric Zalar, who was named the Field Athlete of the Meet, after breaking a program and Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) record in the weight throw.
With a mark of 67-02.0, Zalar broke the previous PSAC indoor record of 66-3.75 from 2010 and Lock Haven's previous record of 61-8.5 set by Mark Manno in 2013.
The Bald Eagles' returned to action just one week after attending the Nittany Lion Open and the River Hawk Invite.
Gulden Invite Highlights:
· Eric Zalar soars to first in the weight throw, smashing a school record by five feet. The feat also places Zalar fifth in the nation for Division II and is the PSAC All-Time Record.
· Ridge Snyder wins the 800m and secures a PSAC mark (1:57.87). Anden Atkins (1:58.56) also secures his PSAC mark in the event, finishing fourth.
· Matt Reinard (8.49) and Jorge Santana (8.65) secured PSAC marks in the 60m hurdles.
· Myka Simmons achieved another PSAC mark with his 7.01 in the 60m, placing him fifth all-time in Lock Haven history.
· The reigning PSAC Track Athlete of the Week Jakob Rager fulfilled another PSAC mark (15:18.05) finishing third in the 5000m. Kristian Mizdail (15:18.71) and Owen Hibell (15:22.62) finished fourth and fifth, respectively, also hitting PSAC marks.
· Brayden Frair (4:21.57) and Gavin Furey (4:21.90) gained PSAC marks in the one mile.
· Cameron Lewis (22.53), Lorenzo Thompson (22.55), and Jaden Wright (22.56) each achieve PSAC marks in the 200m.
Next up for The Haven:
The Bald Eagles return to competition on Saturday, Jan. 30 and will travel to Bucknell again for the Bison Open, Penn State for the Penn State National, or Youngstown, Ohio for the Youngstown Mid-Major.
