Women’s Wrestling set for road dual with Gannon (Jan. 31)

The Bald Eagles will travel to Erie, Pennsylvania, for a dual match against Gannon on Saturday (Jan. 31)

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven women's wrestling team is set to travel to Erie, Pennsylvania, for a road dual match against Gannon on Saturday (Jan. 31). The Bald Eagles will look to expand on their four-match winning streak and 12-5 overall dual record.

Last Time Out
The Lock Haven women's wrestling team took second place at the PA Collegiate Women's Wrestling Championships hosted by East Stroudsburg University. The field consisted of 11 Pennsylvania-based teams.
 
The Bald Eagles were led by the performances of Lindsay Laws (207), Presley McCandlish (160), Azariah Moore (180) and Jayleah Pletz (124), all winning gold.
 
East Stroudsburg won the individual team tournament with 85.5 points, Lock Haven finished second with 63 points and Lehigh took third with 39 points.
 
Lock Haven had the most first-place winners of all teams with four.
 
Laws won the 207 lbs. division behind a 13-0 tech fall and 3-1 decision over fellow Bald Eagle Trinity Monaghan, who earned second with a pin in the semi-finals.
 
McCandlish (160) started the day with 10-0 tech fall and a 7-0 decision before a decisive 14-4 tech fall in the championship.
 
Moore dominated the 180 lbs. division with 10-0 tech fall and 15-2 tech fall in the championship.
 
Pletz (124) earned a pair of 10-0 tech falls before finishing the day with a pin to win first place.
 
Isabella DeVito (131) took third after bouncing back from an early defeat with four straight victories with a tech fall, a decision, an injury forfeit and a pin.
 
Marissa Rumsey (145) earned third place behind a 3-1 day with a pin, tech fall and a decision. Summer Batts (103) also placed third with a tech fall and a pin.
 
Anna Kalcich (131) wrapped up the Bald Eagles' place winners by earning fifth with a pin, tech fall and an injury forfeit.
