Men’s Indoor Track & Field continues to build towards PSAC Meet

The Bald Eagles wrapped up a busy weekend at Bucknell and Penn State on Saturday

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Lock Haven men's track & field team wrapped up a busy two days at the Bucknell Bison Challenge and Multi and the Penn State National on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 30-31.
 
Bison Challenge
At Bucknell, the men's 4x400m-relay team of Matt Reinard, Cam Lewis, Ryan Williams, and Josiah Schans crossed the line in first in 3:26.03.
 
Kristian Mizdail finished second in the 1000-meters (2:40.32) and fifth in the mile (4:24.28), the latter meeting the PSAC standard. Matt Reinard added a second-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles (8.42), also a PSAC mark.
 
In the jumps, Ben Streator earned runner-up honors in the high jump (1.90m/6-2.75), and Michael Lawrence took second in the triple jump (13.55m/44-5.50). Kevin Taylor tied for fourth in the pole vault (4.05m/13-3.5), while Eric Zalar placed eighth in the shot put with a PSAC-qualifying throw of 14.76 meters (48-5.25).
 
Penn State National
At Penn State, the team turned in another impressive showing, led by several PSAC-qualifying performances and a historic run from Jakob Rager in the mile.
 
Rager clocked a 4:13.63 in the mile - a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying time - and moved to sixth all-time in Lock Haven program history. His effort highlighted a day filled with season-best marks and podium finishes across multiple events.
 
Joining Rager with PSAC-qualifying performances were Gavin Furey, Brayden Frair, Josiah Schans, and Eric Zalar.
 
Furey posted a strong 1:56.32 in the 800-meter run, meeting the PSAC standard.
 
Frair qualified for the conference meet in the 3,000-meter, crossing the line in 8:34.13.
 
Schans sprinted his way to a seventh-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.24, hitting the PSAC mark.
 
In the throws, Zalar placed sixth in the weight throw with a toss of 61-2 (18.64m), also meeting the conference standard.
 
To cap off the day, the Distance Medley Relay team of Frair, Myka Simmons, Anden Aitkins, and Rager combined for an impressive third-place finish in 10:27.03.
 
Next up for The Haven:
The Bald Eagles are back in action next weekend (Friday & Saturday, Feb. 6-7) and will send athletes to the River Hawk Friday Showdown, Blue & Orange Invite and Sykes-Sabock Invitational.
