Linus' 63rd-minute goal lifts Lock Haven past Indiana (Pa.)

Mason makes career high nine saves as the Bald Eagles top the visiting Crimson Hawks

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Sophomore Sydney Linus scored in the 63rd minute and freshman Devon Mason made nine saves as the Lock Haven (9-6-2, 7-5-2 PSAC) women's soccer team defeated visiting Indiana (Pa.) (6-5-4, 6-5-3 PSAC) 1-0 in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) showdown on Wednesday evening at Hubert Jack Stadium.

The victory avenged an early season loss on the road to the Crimson Hawks.

Mason's nine saves were a career high and a team season high for the Bald Eagles. They were also the most by a Lock Haven goalkeeper in a game since September 6, 2025, when senior Riley Houck made 10 stops at Shepherd. The freshman goalkeeper stopped five shots in the first half and four in the second for her seventh career shutout.

IUP outshot Lock Haven 17-9 and put nine of those shots on frame. The Crimson Hawks had the better of the first half, and Mason had to deal with shots from multiple IUP players in a busy opening 45 minutes. Emma Hays hit the left post in the 33rd minute for IUP's best look in the opening half of action. Lock Haven's best early look was Linus' shot off the left post in the third minute, and the Bald Eagles managed three shots in the half.

The second half stayed in the Crimson Hawks' favor until Linus broke the deadlock. Lock Haven had taken a handful of shots by the time Linus netted the eventual game-winner, among them attempts from Maci Shaffer and Mia Stock, but none found the back of the net. Linus' goal at 63:06 was her second of the season and gave Lock Haven the lead for good.

IUP kept coming, but the Bald Eagles defense held strong down the stretch to secure a key PSAC victory for the Bald Eagles.
