RIVERHAWK FRIDAY NIGHT COLLEGE SHOWDOWN
 
SYKES & SABOCK CHALLENGE
 
SELINSGROVE /UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Lock Haven men's indoor track and field team returned to action by sending athletes to the River Hawk Friday Night College Showdown (Susquehanna) on Friday, Feb. 6 and the Sykes & Sabock Challenge (Penn State) on Saturday, Feb. 7.
 
River Hawk Friday Night College Showdown Highlights:
 
- Freshman Brayden Frair earned first place and claimed a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship qualifying time in the 5000-meter, finishing in 15:13.07.
 
- Ben Gusciora took home gold in the high jump, clearing 6-0.
 
Sykes & Sabock Challenge Highlights:
 
- Josiah Schans set a new Lock Haven record in the 60-meter hurdles. His 8.05 earned him fourth place and a spot in the PSAC Championships.
 
- Myka Simmons earned a PSAC qualifying time in the 400-meter with a 49.74.
 
- Jakob Rager and Kristian Mizdail both earned PSAC qualifiers in the 3,000-meter. Rager finished in 8:39.79 and Mizdail in 8:40.81.
 
- Eric Zalar continues to impress in the weight-throw. Today Zalar reached 61-09 (PSAC).
 
Next up for The Haven:
The Bald Eagles will return to competition on Friday, Feb. 13 and will travel to Youngstown State, Widener and/or Susquehanna.
