WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Lock Haven softball team traveled to West Chester today (March 21) to take on West Chester in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East conference action. The Haven fell in both games, 5-3 and 10-2
Lock Haven moves to 9-9, while the Golden Rams improve to 9-9.
Game 1: West Chester 5 – Lock Haven 3
Madison Hardy gave the Bald Eagles an early 2-0 lead after her two-run bomb in the second.
West Chester knotted it back up at two before
Blaire Balestrini hit an RBI double to give The Haven a 3-2 lead.
However, the Golden Rams scored three runs in the last four innings to stave off The Haven.
Balestrini and Hardy combined for five of The Haven's eight hits.
Talia Ross (7-2) started in the circle for Lock Haven, twirling three innings of four-run ball.
Keri Wesneski pitched three innings of relief, one run-unearned, and two strikeouts.
Game 2: West Chester 10 – Lock Haven 2
Lock Haven's lone offense came off two separate solo blasts, one by
Hailey Irwin in the fourth and Balestrini in the fifth.
Marissa Horn started for The Haven, going 4.1 innings.
