SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. –  The Lock Haven baseball team traveled to Slippery Rock for the first two games of a four-game Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division series this weekend. Lock Haven fell in game one, 16-1 and The Rock won game two, 11-2.
Game One: Slippery Rock 16 – Lock Haven 1
The Bald Eagles' lone run was from a pinch-hit solo home run from Kaden Rodarmel in the seventh.
Evan Schmelz pitched 1.1 innings of relief, only allowing one earned run and one strikeout.
Game Two: Slippery Rock 11 – Lock Haven 2
Lock Haven opened the game's scoring on a Jerry Lambert stolen base. Lambert stole third and the play led to an error that brought him around to score.
Robert Furino scorched an RBI-double later in the third to push the lead to 2-0.
However, host Slippery Rock was able to score 11 runs unanswered and run away with the ball game.
The pair of losses have The Haven sitting at 5-31 and 1-16 in PSAC West play, while the wins put The Rock at 21-14 and 8-10 in conference action.
Up Next for The Haven:
The Bald Eagles will return to action tomorrow (Saturday, April 18) for their senior day at home against Slippery Rock. Game one is set for a 1 p.m. start with the senior day celebration scheduled to be held between game one and two the DH.
