Box Score LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven tennis team won their first Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division match of the season, defeating Clarion 5-2 today (Friday, April 17).
Prior the match, the Bald Eagles honored their senior Maggie Blasetti.
This victory marks their first match win since beating Lycoming in the fall.
Megan Ferris won her No. 1 singles match (6-0, 6-3) in dominant fashion.
Alaina Marchioni was victorious at the No. 3 singles, winning both sets 6-2.
Breanna Chicas won an exciting match at the No. 4 singles, with the third set reaching a tie-break (6-0, 3-6, 10-8).
Alyse Bass picked up the No. 6 win for The Haven, winning soundly with set scores of 6-0 and 6-4.
The Haven won all three doubles matches with set scores of 6-4, as the duos of Ferris and Maci Rohrbach, Marchioni and Chicas, and Hope Lapinski and Blasetti each came out on top.
The victory pushes the Bald Eagles to 3-8 and 1-3 in PSAC West play. The loss puts Clarion at 1-12 and 0-3 in conference play
