Baseball wraps up Clarion series on the road

The Bald Eagles traveled to Clarion to wrap up a four-game PSAC West series on Tuesday

DUBOIS, Pa. - The Lock Haven baseball team returned to Clarion to finish its rain-shortened contest from earlier in the season and fell 9-2 to conclude a four-game Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) series on Tuesday.

Clarion built a 5-0 lead through three innings on March 22 before the game was called due to rain.

Fast forward to today and the Bald Eagles kicked off the scoring with a solo run in the top of the fourth.

The Haven trimmed its deficit to 5-2 in the top of the sixth, but Clarion responded with four runs in the bottom half to pull away before securing the 9-2 win.

Cayden Robertson went 2-for-2 with a double, while Nick Negola and Robert Furino both drove in runs.

Michael Mariano Jr. was excellent in relief and didn't allow a run in four-complete innings, while striking out a game-high four hitters.

Next up for The Haven:
The Bald Eagles kick off their PSAC West series against Gannon on the road on Thursday, April 30. First pitch of game one is scheduled for 1 p.m.
