The Bald Eagles hosted No. 24 Shippensburg on Senior Day for their final doubleheader of the regular season

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Lock Haven softball team split its final Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) doubleheader of the season with visiting No. 24 Shippensburg on Friday afternoon at Lawrence Field on Senior Day. The Haven won game one 6-4 and fell in game two 16-4.

In game one, Lock Haven opened the scoring in the bottom of the first to take a 1-0 lead off an RBI-single by Olivia LaMeau.

Ship evened the score at 1-1 in the second, but The Haven erupted for five runs over the third and fourth innings to jump out in front 6-1. Brodzia (2-for-4, 2B) accounted for four RBIs during the rally, including a three-RBI double in the fourth.

Ship scored three runs over the final two innings to trim Lock Haven's lead to 6-4, but Talia Ross closed the seventh to close out the win.

The Haven scattered four runs the rest of the way, but the Raiders offense closed out the afternoon with seven runs in the top of the seventh to run away with a 16-4 victory.

Blaire Balestrini led the offense by going 3-for-4 with an RBI. Evelyn Osborne (2B), Madison Melius and Brodzina also drove in runs, while Gianna Goodman finished with a double and three walks.

The Road Ahead:
Friday's doubleheader concluded the 2026 regular season for The Haven, who will now await the PSAC East action on Saturday to determine their seeding and fate for the PSAC Tournament.

With the split, Lock Haven finishes an impressive regular season with a 29-21 overall record and 17-15 mark in the PSAC East.

The Haven is currently in fourth place in the East and is in a four-team race for the final two PSAC Tournament berths. Shepherd (16-14 PSAC), Bloomsburg (16-14) and West Chester (15-15) all wrap up their regular seasons tomorrow.

Lock Haven was ranked No. 6 in the NCAA DII Atlantic Region and remains alive for a bid for the regional tournament regardless of the PSAC Tournament outcome. Following the completion of the conference tournaments, eight teams from each of the eight regions will advance to the 2026 NCAA Division II Softball Championships.

The Atlantic Region Championships will feature three automatic qualifiers – the tournament champions from the PSAC, MEC and CIAA – and five at-large selections.
