LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Lock Haven women's volleyball team (5-3) continued its dominant stretch on Friday afternoon, sweeping Virginia State University, 3-0, in the opening match of the 2026 Lock Haven Tournament inside Thomas Fieldhouse.
 
With the victory, the Bald Eagles extended their winning streak to four matches and have not dropped a set during the run. Lock Haven earned the straight-set victory by scores of 25-19, 25-17 and 25-20.
 
Lock Haven set the tone early with a 25-19 victory in the opening frame before pulling away for a 25-17 second-set win. The Bald Eagles completed the sweep with a 25-20 decision in the third set.
 
Maddie Mitchell led Lock Haven's offensive attack with a match-high 11 kills. Reagan Irons and Payton Stanton added seven kills each as the Bald Eagles spread the offense throughout the lineup.
 
Natalie Gibson directed the Lock Haven attack with 32 assists and also added five digs. Olivia Taylor paced the Bald Eagles defensively with a match-high 20 digs, while Irons and Gibson recorded five digs apiece.
 
Demi Ross served up a match-high four aces. Natalie Acevedo and Gibson added two aces each.
At the net, Irons, Maddy Fox and Gracelynn Wolzen each recorded one block.

The victory came in the first match of the two-day Lock Haven Tournament, hosted by the Bald Eagles. Lock Haven will continue tournament play on Saturday with matches vs. Edinboro at 9 a.m. and Jefferson at 1 p.m.
