ERIE, Pa. - The Lock Haven men's soccer team's late rally fell short as No. 22 Gannon scored twice in the final 20 minutes to hand the Bald Eagles a 3-1 loss in their Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West opener on Wednesday.
 
Scott Manning scored the lone goal for Lock Haven (1-3-4, 0-1-0 PSAC), finishing off an assist from Maddox Snyder in the 50th minute to briefly tie the match at 1. It was Manning's first goal of the season.
 
The Bald Eagles trailed early after Gannon (5-1-1, 1-0-0 PSAC) struck in the 14th minute, but Lock Haven settled in and created chances throughout the first half.
 
Lock Haven came out of the break with renewed energy and found the tying goal just under five minutes in. Snyder played a ball to Manning, who converted to even the score.
 
However, Gannon broke the deadlock in the 72nd minute, then added a second goal in the 84th minute to put the match out of reach.
 
Ethan Beck made three saves in goal for the Bald Eagles, who were outshot 16-10. Lock Haven managed four shots on target from Snyder, Manning, Joshua Horn and Patricio Zapata.

The Bald Eagles return home on Saturday, Sept. 26 to host Seton Hill at 1 p.m. at Hubert Jack Stadium.
