LOCK HAVEN, Pa.  - The Lock Haven Women's cross country team opened the 2026 season this evening in traditional fashion as the Bald Eagles hosted Division I Penn State at the Dolan Duals.

Adjustments were made to the course this year due to weather conditions from the previous days, so the women ran a 5000-meter instead of the traditional 4000-meter. 

Leading the way for the Bald Eagles was senior Nicole Carroll, who finished 13th after covering the 5000-meter course with a 19:40

Following behind Carroll was Kaydence Strange, who finished 14th with a time of 19:44

Rounding out the rest of the top 5 for the Bald Eagles was Natalie Jolley (21:06, 15th), River Burrows (21:49, 16th), and Emily Black (21:54, 17th)

Claire Zubey ran a 17:29 for the individual win, leading Penn State to a 15-50 dual victory.

The Bald Eagles will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 12^th at the DII/DIII Challenge, hosted by Kutztown University.
