LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Lock Haven men's cross country team opened the 2026 season this evening in traditional fashion as the Bald Eagles hosted Division I Penn State at the Dolan Duals.
Adjustments were made to the course this year due to weather conditions from the previous days, so the men ran a 5000-meter instead of the traditional 6000-meter.
Leading the way for the Bald Eagles was senior Jakob Rager, who finished 6th after covering the 5000-meter course with a 15:34.9
Owen Hibell (15:44.0, 13th) and Kristian Mizdail (15:50.6, 15th) were able to finish out in the top 15
Following Hibell and Mizdail were newcomers Will Campbell (16:51.7, 19th) and Sean Donahue (17:03.3, 20th), rounding out the top 5 for the Bald Eagles.
Isaac Oppermann ran a 15:27.3 for the individual win, leading Penn State to a 15-48 dual victory.

The Bald Eagles will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 12th at the DII/DIII Challenge, hosted by Kutztown University.
