Dear, LHU faculty, staff and Haven softball fans,
Knock MS Out of the Park 2020
The LHU Softball team’s 2019 season has begun and with the start of each new season, the team begins its quest to Knock MS Out of the Park. This will be our 14th year working with the National MS Society in the battle against MS. Over the thirteen years that we have worked with this fundraiser, we have raised approximately $39,000. Last year’s team was able to raise just over $2,000 for this worthy cause. This year’s team hopes to equal last year’s fundraising efforts. We are again asking for donors to assist us in this cause. As a donor, you can choose to pledge a dollar amount per home run hit by the Lady Eagles or you can opt to pledge a flat donation. All proceeds from this event directly benefit the National MS Society. Step up to the plate with us to help fight this disease!
MS & its special significance to LHU Softball:
Former LHU Head Coach and Alumna, Kim Lindsey (formerly Hasson) was diagnosed with MS in 1993. Kim was a member of the 1988 NCAA DII National Championship Runner-up squad. She then coached the Lady Eagles from 1990-1999. Many of you may know Kim as she has been on campus since 1985 and remains here as our Equipment Coordinator in the Department of Athletics.
Knock MS Out of the Park Game:
On Friday, April 24 the LHU Softball team will be hosting our annual Knock MS Out of the Park Game against Mansfield (DH) at 2:30/ 4:30 p.m. at Lawrence Field. More details about this event will be available shortly.
How will my donation help?
Participation in this program goes a long way to help eliminate MS and better the lives of those already affected. MS is a disease that affects the central nervous system and approximately 1 million Americans have been diagnosed with MS in the United States. Contributions raised from the Knock MS out of the Park program will directly benefit the National MS Society.
LHU Softball is proud to Knock MS out of the Park and we hope you will join our team in this important cause!
