Countdown to 100 - -
Standout 125-pounder Luke Werner is closing in on career-win No. 100 at LHU. Last week at the Clarion Open, Werner won two matches to run his career total to 93 victories as he looks to become the 23^rd member of the 100-win club.
 
A look back - -
Luke Werner led the way for Bald Eagles last season (2020-21) at the 2021 Mid-American Conference (MAC) tournament. It marked LHU’s only competition of the season last year and Werner placed fifth at 125 pounds after going 4-2 overall at the two-day conference-championship.
 
Returning talent and leadership - -
2019-20 NWCA All-American Luke Werner is one of five Bald Eagles who competed at last season’s MAC championships, who returns to the lineup this year. Cole Manley, Kollin Myers, Colin Fegley, Parker McClellan and Werner were all in the lineup for Lock Haven at the 2021 MAC tournament and the five will provide important depth, leadership and experience for the Bald Eagles this year. Werner and McClellan were both in the lineup for Lock Haven at the 2020 MAC championships. That 2019-20 season marked LHU’s first in the Mid-American Conference.

LHU will return to action on Saturday, November 20 at the Navy Classic Tournament.
 
The road ahead - -
Lock Haven will open the 2021-22 season with four straight tournament appearances. LHU will open the dual portion of the schedule at home on Thursday, December 2 vs. Michigan State. Two days later on December 4, the Bald Eagles will host Lehigh. Those two early-December and noteworthy dual matchups mark two of five true-home duals in Thomas Fieldhouse. Lock Haven will also host Mid-American Conference duals vs. George Mason, Clarion and Cleveland State. To date, the Bald Eagles are also scheduled to host three tournaments.
