- The 2021-22 season by the numbers:
The 2021 spring season marked the first-ever golf season for the Bald Eagles and did so under the leadership of first-year head coach Chad Anthony. The team made history in April by playing in Lock Haven’s first ever PSAC Golf Tournament. The season was highlighted by steady improvement over the length of their schedule.
Back in June of 2020, the program announced it’s first-ever recruit in Ashley Lawson.
On March 2, 2020, Chad Anthony was named Lock Haven University’s head women’s golf coach.
Anthony ushered in a new era for Haven athletics as serves as the school’s first ever women’s golf coach. In what served as a historic moment for Lock Haven on Aug. 6, 2018, it was announced that the university would be adding women’s varsity golf, a sport never sponsored by Lock Haven at the varsity level.
Anthony brings with him 13 years of experience in the golf industry and for the last four seasons, he’s served as the head varsity golf coach at nearby Milton High School.
Tasked with rebuilding the Milton High School program, Anthony did just that after taking over as head coach in 2016. Not only did Anthony help the program grow in the sheer number of student-athletes, but he also guided them back to winning ways. Last season in the fall of 2019, Milton finished with seven wins behind Anthony’s leadership.
Since 2010, Anthony also served as the director of golf and head golf professional at Wynding Brook Golf Club. There, he gained valuable management, leadership and fundraising experience, and he’s also skilled in golf club repair, fitting and teaching.
In March 2020, Anthony took over as the head professional at Clinton Country Club, located in Mill Hall.
A former collegiate baseball player, Anthony graduated from Division II Belmont Abbey College in 2002 with a degree in therapeutic recreation.
