Kathy Brown

For LHU women’s soccer coach Kathy Brown, the 2018 season will mark her third at helm of The Haven program.
 
She was hired to take over in April 2016 and after two season at LHU, she is 13-21 (11-21 PSAC). Overall, Brown is 279-114-13 as a head coach.
 
Brown has won National Championships as both a coach and player.
 
Highlighting the 2017 season for Brown and the Bald Eagles was Jordan Shoff’s selection to the All-Conference Team. She was named to the All-PSAC Second Team as a defender.
 
In 2017, LHU went 6-11 overall and the Bald Eagles finished their run through PSAC play at 5-11 with conference wins over Edinboro, Pitt-Johnstown, Shippensburg, Mansfield and California. The team earned a 2017 United Soccer Coaches Team Ethics and Sportsmanship award. The Bald Eagles earned a Silver Award, which was based on a percentage (silver, 11-30 %) calculated by the total number of cards received by players/coaches divided by the team's total number of games played.
 
The 2016 season marked the first season for Brown at Lock Haven and she helped lead the Bald Eagles to a 7-10 (6-10 PSAC) record which marked the most wins in program history since the 2007 season. Freshman Marah Foltz was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) NCAA Division II All-Atlantic Region Third Team. Foltz scored a team high six goals and had four assists in her first season of collegiate soccer.
 
When Brown was named the new head coach in April 2016, she brought with her 20 total years of collegiate coaching experience.
 
Prior to LHU Brown spent 18 seasons, on the sidelines at Young Harris College in Young Harris, Georgia, as the head coach, after starting the program there.
 
Highlighting her tenure at Young Harris College was a 2006 Junior College Division I National Championship and she was elected into the Mountain Cats Hall of Fame in 2013. Seven times she was named the Region Coach of the Year while at Young Harris and Brown was tabbed as the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Junior College Division I National Coach of the Year in 2006.
 
At Young Harris, Brown's teams advanced to six National Tournaments, won eight Regional Championships and claimed six District Championships. She led 11 players to All-American honors.
 
In all, Brown won over 200 games at YHC, going 224-39-8.
 
Prior to Young Harris, Brown spent two seasons at as an assistant coach at NCAA Division I Jacksonville State.
 
Brown graduated from Berry College in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and she earned a Master of Science in Community Agency Counseling from Jacksonville State in 1997.
 
While at Berry, Brown was a four-year scholarship player, who started on the 1993 National Championship team.
 
Kathy and her husband Barry, are the proud parents of four children.
