Entering 2nd season at Lock Haven
For Pete Wert, the 2024-25 season will mark his second full year as the head coach at The Haven.

In Wert's first full season as head coach of the Lock Haven women's tennis program, the Bald Eagles racked up an impressive total of eight victories.
Lock Haven finished the fall slate a perfect 4-0, before finishing 4-4 during the spring. The Bald Eagles earned PSAC East victories over Shippensburg and East Stroudsburg.
Olivia Anastos led the team in singles victories with seven and teamed up with Mia Shuler to lead Lock Haven in doubles wins with five.

He was hired on January 19, 2023 and guided the Bald Eagles through a very successful spring 2023 season.
During spring 2023 competition, Lock Haven went 4-4 with PSAC East wins over Shepherd, East Stroudsburg, Shippensburg, along with a win over PSAC West foe Clarion. Following the 2023-24 season, Maddy Reeves was named to the All-Conference Team, the Bald Eagles’ first All-Conference selection in school history.
Wert, a Lock Haven native, earned his bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education at The Haven in 1989.
Since August 2008, Wert, a local middle school teacher, has served as the head girls tennis coach at nearby Central Mountain (Mill Hall, Pa.) and in 2010, he took over as head coach of the boys high school program at Central Mountain.
Just last May (2022), Wert guided Central Mountain’s David Lindsay to gold at the PIAA Boys Tennis State Championship in what proved to be a historic event as Lindsay became the first Wildcat in history to capture a state title in boys tennis. Recently, Coach Wert guided Lindsay to a pair of district championships.
During his time coaching tennis at the high school level, Wert led his team to an impressive 13 league titles.
