Freshman Nicole Smith (Milton, Pa., Milton) of the Lock Haven University softball team recorded two wins over the weekend and is recognized as GoLHU.com’s Female Athlete of the Week.

 

Continuing to dazzle in the pitcher’s circle, Smith posted a 1.17 ERA against Clarion and IUP as she pitched two complete games.

 

She had four strikeouts in the 11-1 win over Clarion in five innings.

 

Smith held the opposition to just a 1.78 batting average.

 

Against IUP, the freshman held the Crimson Hawks to only four hits.

 

Smith and the Lady Eagles enter this week claiming the No. 2 spot in the Central Division. They begin the playoffs tomorrow (April 21) against West Chester at 11 a.m. PSAC Western Division Champion California will be hosting the playoffs.
