Cody Wheeler, of the Lock Haven Wrestling team, is this week’s www.GoLHU.com Male Athlete of the Week.
 
The Redshirt-Sophomore had a tremendous weekend for the Bald Eagles, winning two bouts at the Virginia Duals on Friday (Jan. 10) and Saturday (Jan. 11). 
 
On Saturday (Jan. 11), Wheeler continued his hot streak with a 5-3 win over No. 13 Nick Soto, of Old Dominion at 133.  The win for Wheeler was his second win over a national-ranked wrestler in the last three bouts. 
 
Wheeler started the Virginia Duals with a quick-attack on ODU’s Michael Hayes and took him down, putting him into a cradle.  Wheeler quickly worked Hayes to his back and recorded the fall just 1:09 into the bout.
 
The Bald Eagles are back in action Saturday (Jan. 18) when they take on the Fighting Scots of Edinboro at Thomas Fieldhouse (7 p.m.).
