LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University field hockey team (12-5, 3-1 A-10) improved to 3-1 in Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10) action today as the Lady Eagles defeated visiting La Salle (6-10, 1-2 A-10) 3-1 on Charlotte E. Smith Field.
Lock Haven took a 1-0 lead in the 22nd minute off a goal by leading scorer
Amy Hordendorf (Topton, Pa./Brandywine Heights).
With no time remaining on the clock at the end of first half, La Salle drew even after converting on a penalty corner.
The Haven dominated the second half of play and tallied two goals.
LHU got goals from
Kristi Shepps (Willow Street, Pa./Penn Manor) and
Leslie Ahern (Getzville, N.Y./Williamsville North) to help the Lady Eagles past their conference foe.
Lock Haven got a solid defensive effort throughout and goalie
Erin Terreson (Robesonia, Pa./Conrad Weiser) made two saves.
Lock Haven is right back at it on Sunday, October 24 when the Lady Eagles host rival West Chester at 1 p.m. in conference action.
