PHILADELPHIA – The Lock Haven University field hockey team (15-5, 5-1 A-10) used some late-game heroics to take down host Saint Joseph's University (6-12, 3-3 A-10) 2-1 in overtime today in Philadelphia.
Lock Haven tied the match at 1-1 with just 2:15 left in regulation and less than five minutes into overtime
Kristi Shepps (Willow Street, Pa./Penn Manor) scored the game-winner.
Saint Joseph's went up 1-0 in the 27th minute and held that lead until late.
Lock Haven's pressure finally paid off when
Amy Hordendorf (Topton, Pa./Brandywine Heights) scored at the 67:45 minute mark to help send things into overtime.
Najia Hasan (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Wyoming Seminary) assisted both Lock Haven goals.

The Lady Eagles return to action on Sunday, October 31 as they remain in Philadelphia to take on Temple in The Haven's 2010 regular season finale.
