BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven University football team (0-10) closed out the 2011 season with a 34-3 loss at No. 21 Bloomsburg University (9-2).
Redshirt-sophomore Bradon Brader (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) made a push for the 1,000 yard mark. He rushed for 122 yards today on 34 carries to finish the season with 942 yards, the most for a Bald Eagle since the mid 2000's.
Jay Hartman (Lewistown, Pa./Indian Valley) made six catches today for 84 yards.
Bloomsburg, who was led by quarterback Pat Carey's 104 yards and one touchdown through the air, took an early 10-0 lead. The Huskies led 27-0 at halftime and got 136 yards on the ground and a touchdown from Eddie Mateo.
Lock Haven prevented the shutout with 6:27 left in the third period.
Noah Heimer (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) connected on his eighth field-goal of the year to make it 34-3. Heimer finished the year 8-for-14 on field goal attempts and was 8-for-11 on extra point attempts.
Defensively, LHU got a big game from
Marc Olivo (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty), who had 10 tackles (7 solo).
Ibrahim Smith (New Bloomfield, Pa./West Perry) closed out his remarkable Haven career with a six-tackle effort.
The Huskies were 5-2 in PSAC East action and ranked as high as No. 2 in the nation before suffering two straight losses to put them out of today's Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship game.
Lock Haven went 0-7 in PSAC West action this year under first-year head coach
