LHU downs Alderson-Broaddus 4-1 in home opener

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men's soccer team (5-1) defeated Alderson-Broaddus College (1-4-1) 4-1 in the Bald Eagle's 2011 home opener at Hubert Jack Stadium today.
 
The Bald Eagles scored their first goal in the 17th minute when senior Martin Pletz (Pittsburgh/Carlynton) converted a header off of a tremendous pass by freshman Ben Weaver (East Earl, Pa./Garden Spot).
 
Lock Haven struck again in the 31st minute off of a corner kick by senior Kevin Wolfe (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township). 
 
Wolfe's cross found senior Billy Pasukinis (Benton, Pa./Benton), who headed it into the back of the net.
 
LHU led 2-1 at halftime.
 
Bobby Mohr (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep) continued the scoring in the second half when he ripped a shot off of a rebound that found the back of the net in the 55th minute.
 
Freshman Kyle Winey (Mifflintown, Pa./Juniata) rounded out the scoring in the 81st minute.
 
Winey made a spectacular one-on-one move to beat his defender and fired it in to the far post.
 
Freshman goalkeeper Chris Frederick (Woodsboro, Md./Walkersville) tallied three saves in his first career win.
 
The Bald Eagles return to action Monday, September 26 when they host Seton Hill at 3 p.m. at Hubert Jack Stadium.
