MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The Lock Haven University wrestling team (3-8, 0-3 EWL) was downed 28-12 tonight at West Virginia University (5-3, 2-1 EWL) in Eastern Wrestling League (EWL) action.
The Bald Eagles picked up three wins on the night.
For the second straight match, The Haven posted back-to-back wins at 157 and 165, thanks to
Aaron Fry (Muncy, Pa./Muncy) and
Seth Creasy (Mercer, Pa./Mercer).
Fry snapped West Virginia's four-bout win streak to open the night. He took down WVU's Dominic Prezzia 10-4 before Creasy edged Kyle Eason 2-0.
Creasy won in thrilling fashion as he scored his two points thanks to a reversal with just 20 seconds left in the match.
At 197,
Matt Parlier (Cuddebackville, N.Y./Port Jervis) recorded his first pin of the year. He ended his match with Nicholas Hylton at the 4:36 mark.
Lock Haven returns home to host Cleveland State on Friday, February 3 at 7 p.m.
