Men’s Soccer slips past UPJ, 1-0

Haven snaps four-match losing skid with hard-fought 1-0 win at Pitt-Johnstown

Box Score JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men's soccer team (6-8-1) scored in the 12th minute and it was the only goal LHU needed as the Bald Eagles shutout the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown (1-12-1), 1-0 today in non-conference action.

Trent Burris (McAlisterville, Pa./East Juniata) put Lock Haven up 1-0 just 11:48 into the match.

The goal proved to be the difference in the match.

Haven goalie Chris Frederick (Woodsboro, Md./Walkerville) made five saves to preserve the shutout.

Lock Haven returns to action on Wednesday, October 24 at noon when the Bald Eagles take on Mercyhurst in PSAC action. The Haven closes out the 2012 regular season on Saturday (October 27) at home vs. Slippery Rock (noon).
