Match Notes: Bald Eagles set to host Cleveland State

Bald Eagles return home to host Cleveland State in first of three straight Friday-night home matches

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University wrestling team returns home to host Cleveland State on Friday (February 3) at 7 p.m. in Thomas Fieldhouse.

Setting the stage:
The Bald Eagles return home to host Cleveland State in Eastern Wrestling League (EWL) action on Friday at 7 p.m. Lock Haven is 3-8 overall and 0-3 in EWL action. The Bald Eagles are coming off a 28-12 loss to West Virginia last Friday.

Cleveland State is 6-10 overall and 0-2 in EWL action. The Vikings are coming off a 40-0 loss to No. 21 Edinboro last week.

Friday's match marks the first of three straight home Friday matches for the Bald Eagles.

The series:
Lock Haven has beaten CSU four straight times and leads the all-time series 23-10. The Haven won 21-18 last year. Lock Haven won seven of 10 bouts and current Bald Eagles John Trumbetti, Matt Bonson and Harry Turner all picked up wins in the match.

Last time out:
Lock Haven is coming off a 28-12 loss to WVU. West Virginia's lineup featured six nationally ranked grapplers and the Mountaineers won seven of 10 bouts.

It marked the second straight match where Aaron Fry (157) and Seth Creasy (165) posted back-to-back wins.

At 197, Matt Parlier picked up his first pin of the season for The Haven.

Wilkinson nationally ranked:
Owen Wilkinson is ranked No. 33 at 149 in this week's Gregg Henry's/WrestlingReport D-I Rankings. He's 21-11 on the year with six pins.

Rehm's 23 lead the way:
Bobby Rehm, a true-freshman (125) leads the Bald Eagles with 23 wins on the year.

Creasy on a roll:
Senior Seth Creasy has been on a recent tear. The Mercer, Pa. native has won two straight matches and four of his last five (all duals) as he sits at 12-10 on the year, rounding into form at just the right time.

Next Friday (February, 10), Lock Haven hosts local-rival Bucknell (7 p.m.) and the Bald Eagles close out the home portion of their 2011-12 schedule at home on Friday, February 17 vs. Bloomsburg (7 p.m.).
