WINTER PARK, Fla. – The No. 4 Lock Haven University lacrosse team (1-2) was edged by non-conference rival and sixth-ranked Limestone College (8-1) 13-10 tonight at Rollins College.
The Lady Eagles got hat tricks from both
Elyse Fisher (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial) and
Julie Moran (Unionville, Pa./Unionville).
Gwen Buss (Harrisburg, Pa./Mercersburg Academy) and
Kayleigh Johnson (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) both scored twice for The Haven.
Johnson also had one assist.
Goalie
Heather Sacko (Fairport, N.Y./Faiport) made 10 saves and
Clare Gaeng (Frederick, Md./Governor Thomas Johnson) led The Haven's defensive effort. Gaeng has two caused turnovers and six ground balls.
Moran scored back-to-back goals 42 seconds apart with 10:30 left in the game to make it 11-9 in favor of Limestone, but that would be as close as LHU could get down the stretch.
Lock Haven returns to action on Tuesday, March 20 at 4 p.m. when the Lady Eagles open Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) play at Millersville University.
The Haven's home opener is set for Thursday, March 22 at 4 p.m. vs. No. 10 Merrimack. The game marks the first of five straight home games for LHU.
