MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The No. 6 Lock Haven University lacrosse team (1-3, 0-1 PSAC) dropped its Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) today at Millersville University (4-2, 1-0 PSAC) 12-10.
Elyse Fisher (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial) scored a hat trick as she carried the offensive load for the Lady Eagles.
Chelsea Borrino (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas) added two goals for Lock Haven.
Kelly Hamilton (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) tallied one goal and recorded two assists.
Kayleigh Johnson (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) dished out a pair of helpers.
Defensively, Lock Haven was led by
Clare Gaeng (Frederick Md./Governor Thomas Johnson) and
Melinda Wojt (Telford, Pa./Souderton). Gaeng had four ground balls and two caused turnovers while Wojt had four caused turnovers and four ground balls.
Millersville led 7-5 at half, but with just over 10 minutes to play in the game it was 9-9.
Hamilton's goal with 6:09 left in the match cut the MU lead to one goal at 11-10, but Millersville netted an important insurance goal with just over four minutes to play.
Lock Haven opens play at home on Thursday, March 22 vs. No. Merrimack in a non-conference match.
