INDIANA, Pa.  – Despite a 14-13 loss in the regular season finale today at IUP, the No. 9 Lock Haven University lacrosse team (11-5, 9-2) has clinched the PSAC regular season title.

Lock Haven used a furious second half comeback to get back into today's match, but it wasn't enough as host-IUP edged out the ninth-ranked Lady Eagles. IUP improves to 11-5 and 7-4 in PSAC action.

Lock Haven will host next week's PSAC tournament as The Haven looks for its fourth-straight PSAC tournament title.

Lock Haven trailed 7-5 at halftime today and less than 10 minutes into the second, IUP led 12-5.

The Lady Eagles did not go away without a fight went on a 7-0 run that tied the match at 12-12 with 8:34 left in the contest.

Two straight IUP goals made it 14-12 in favor of the hosts, but LHU struck again with a goal from Kayleigh Johnson (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport). Johnson's goal made it 14-13 with 3:10 left and LHU had several shots in the game's final seconds, but the Lady Eagles couldn't beat IUP goalie Chelsey Hipp for the equalizer.

Six different Lady Eagles netted goals in today's match including Johnson, who had a pair of goals.

Chelsea Borrino (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas), Gwen Buss (Harrisburg, Pa./Mercersburg Academy) and Elyse Fisher (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial) all recorded hat tricks for LHU.

Fisher's hat trick keeps her multiple-goal streak alive. The senior netted at least two goals in all 16 regular season matches this year.

Julie Moran (Unionville, Pa./Unionville) and Emily Cilla (Kings Park, N.Y./Kings Park) both added goals for Lock Haven.

Borrino, Moran and Kelly Hamilton (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) all dished out two assists.

Hamilton turned in a strong all-around game for LHU. She had four draw controls and three caused turnovers.

Clare Gaeng (Frederick, Md./Governor Thomas Johnson) was solid on defense for The Haven as she recorded three caused turnovers to go along with a pair of ground balls and draw controls.

Goalies Heather Sacko (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) and Nicole Necci (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial) split time in net, combining for three saves.

Lock Haven has earned the No. 1 seed for the conference tournament and will host the semifinals and finals on Friday and Saturday, May 4 & 5.  Check www.GoLHU.com for more details early next week.
