Box Score LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women's soccer team (4-6-1, 3-6-1 PSAC) was downed 2-0 today in PSAC action by visiting national ranked Slippery Rock University (7-2-1, 6-2-1 PSAC).
Slippery Rock's Nicole Krueger opened the scoring in the 36
th minute on a penalty shot, her third goal of the season. Krueger buried the shot into the low far corner after being dragged down in the box by an LHU defender.
Despite the 1-0 ROCK advantage at the break the Lady Eagles held a 6-3 shot advantage and played toe-to-toe with the No. 24 ranked team in the country.
Slippery Rock turned up the heat on LHU in the second stanza outshooting Lock Haven 5-1. The Rock's Leslie Henny added an unassisted goal in the second half firing a shot from the left wing over the outstretched arms of LHU goal keeper
Dana Wozniak (Blackstone, Mass./Mt.St. Charles Academy).
Wozniak made two saves in the losing effort while
Jamie Hunter (Marietta, Pa./Donegal) paced the Lady Eagle with three shots.
Annabelle Hegeman made three saves in net to preserve the shutout for Slippery Rock.
