Women’s Soccer downed by IUP

Lock Haven closes out the 2013 season on Saturday at Clarion

Box Score LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women's soccer team (4-12-1, 3-11-1 PSAC) lost to IUP (9-7-1, 7-7-1 PSAC) 7-2 today in PSAC action.
 
The Crimson Hawks jumped out to a 5-0 halftime lead on the way to the win.
 
Lock Haven held a slight 19-18 overall advantage in shots, but IUP took advantage of some timely scoring and strong goaltending.
 
Jamie Hunter (Marietta, Pa./Donegal) turned in a fantastic effort for The Haven.
 
Trailing 5-0 in the second half, Hunter was rewarded for her effort and put Lock Haven on the board with her sixth goal of the season. She finished with eight of LHU's 19 shots and put six on goal as she did everything she could to singlehandedly spark the Lady Eagle effort.
 
Natasia Lenox (Erie, Pa./McDowell) scored her first goal of the season in the 80th minute off an assist from Samantha Biondi (Hamilton, N.J./Mercer County C.C.).
 
Lock Haven closes out the 2013 season on Saturday, Nov. 2 at Clarion (7 p.m.) in PSAC action.

Lock Haven has just one game remaining … Both Madison Taylor and Jamie Hunter have six goals on the year … Madison Taylor's 25 career goals are seventh-best in school history and one better than Arielle Gordon (24; 2007-2010), five behind Katie Taylor (30; 1991-2002) on the all-time list.
