Men’s Soccer ends season with 2-0 loss

The Bald Eagles ended 2013 season with 2-0 loss at West Virginia Wesleyan in non-conference action

Box Score BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – The Lock Haven University men's soccer team (5-12) closed the 2013 season today on the road with a 2-0 loss at West Virginia Wesleyan (8-6-4) in non-conference action.
 
After a scoreless first half, the Bobcats scored twice in the second half.
 
Tyler Marshall put West Virginia Wesleyan up 1-0 in the 60th minute and Matthew Brown made it 2-0 in the 83rd.
 
The Bobcats outshot LHU 18-9.
 
Troy Amspacher (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley), the Bald Eagles leading scorer led Lock Haven with four shots. Jacob Oldaker (Elliottsburg, Pa./West Perry) added two shots while trying to spark the attack.
 
Haven goalie Brad Sumski (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) made seven saves.
 
Lock Haven finished the season 5-12 overall and 3-8 in PSAC action.

2013 marked the 75th season of LHU men's soccer … it also marks the 35th anniversary of Lock Haven's 1978 Division III national championship … Freshman Troy Amspacher led the Bald Eagles with six goals … He added one assist for a team-high 13 points … Jacob Oldaker, the 2013 PSAC Freshman of the Year added five goals and three assists (13 points) … LHU opened the season 2-0 … Lock Haven's five wins came against Goldey-Beacom, Pitt-Johnstown, Gannon, Chestnut Hill and East Stroudsburg … The Bald Eagles three graduating seniors are Adam Supplee, Matthew Coleman and Zachary Muscato.
