Box Score SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 12 Lock Haven University lacrosse team (1-0) got goals from seven different players and eight total points from
Chelsea Borrino (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas) as the Lady Eagles cruised in their 2013 season-opener, downing host-Shepherd (5-3), 18-7.
Borrino had four goals and four assists and she was one of three players, who scored four goals.
Jessica Pandolf (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem North) and
Kelly Hamilton (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) both scored four goals, while
Emily Cilla (Kings Park, N.Y./Kings Park) and
Taylor Klunk (Forest Hill, Md./Bel Air) both added two.
Goalie
Chrissy Baffuto (Long Valley, N.J./West Morris Central) made her first career start and 60 minutes later she had her first career win. She made nine saves and grabbed seven ground balls for The Haven.
The Lady Eagles jumped all over Shepherd early. LHU quickly led 8-0 and the Lady Eagles stretched that to a 12-2 halftime lead. LHU outshot the Rams, 33-9.
Lock Haven returns to action on Tuesday, March 19 when the Lady Eagles travel to Newberry for a 4 p.m. contest. The Newberry match is the first of three games next week in South Carolina.
