Box Score SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Kelly Hamilton (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) scored eight goals,
Chelsea Borrino (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas) handed out six assists and the No. 11 Lock Haven University lacrosse team cruised past Shippensburg University, 19-8 in the PSAC opener for both teams.
Lock Haven (4-1, 1-0 PSAC) also got a strong defensive effort on the way to the big road-win over host-Ship (2-5, 0-1 PSAC).
The Haven's defense caused nine turnovers and LHU held a slight, 17-15 advantage in ground balls. LHU goalie
Chrissy Baffuto (Long Valley, N.J./West Morris Central) got a strong effort in front of her and finished with three saves.
Hamilton and Borrino where the game's biggest story as they recorded game-highs with eight goals and six assists, respectively.
Jessica Pandolf (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem North) also had a big game on offense for Lock Haven and she finished with six goals.
Emily Cilla (Kings Park, N.Y./Kings Park) and
Jenna Dingler (Washington Township, N.J./Washington Township) each netted two goals.
Rachel Ward (Fishers, Ind./Bishop Chatard) added one goal and
Jill Murray (Kennett Square, Pa./Unionville) added two helpers.
Down, 1-0 early, LHU scored five straight to take the 5-1 lead.
The Haven led 9-6 at halftime and pulled away in the second.
Lock Haven returns to action Saturday, March 30 at 1 p.m. when they travel to Slippery Rock.
