Strong second half, Pandolf’s 7 goals lift #11 Lacrosse past Slippery Rock, 17-6

Haven outscores SRU, 10-1 in second half; Lady Eagle defense forces 15 turnovers

Box Score SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa.  – The No. 11 Lock Haven University lacrosse team used a strong second half and seven goals from Jessica Pandolf (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem North) to cruise past Slippery Rock, 17-6 today in PSAC action.

Lock Haven (5-1, 2-0 PSAC) also got another strong defensive effort, forcing SRU (2-3, 0-2 PSAC) into 24 turnovers during the game.

With the win, The Haven remains unbeaten in PSAC play.

Pandolf's seven goals were a game-high and she added one assist for the eight-point afternoon. She also had a game-high four caused turnovers and game-high five ground balls.

Pandolf's four caused turnovers were a huge key for Lock Haven.

Lock Haven caused 15 of SRU's 24 turnovers.

Four different players had two caused turnovers, including Lindsay Walbrandt (Souderton, Pa./Souderton), who led The Haven defense.

Kelly Hamilton (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) and Jenna Dingler (Washington Township, N.J./Washington Township) both netted hat tricks for LHU and Emily Cilla (Kings Park, N.Y./Kings Park) and Rachel Ward (Fishers, Ind./Bishop Chatard) both netted two goals.

Cilla had a five-point game as she dished out a game-high three assists.

Chrissy Baffuto (Long Valley, N.J./West Morris Central) got another strong defensive effort in front of her and the Lady Eagles only allowed 13 shots, but Baffuto was on hand to make five saves.

Lock Haven led 7-5 at halftime, thanks to two goals apiece from Pandolf, Cilla and Ward.

Lock Haven returns to action on Tuesday, April 2 at 4 p.m. when the Lady Eagles host Millersville University in their 2013 home-opener.
