Bald Eagles split doubleheader on the road with Shepherd

LHU notches first win of the year with 3-1 win in game two

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – The Lock Haven University baseball team (1-4) split a doubleheader today on the road with Shepherd University (3-9).

The Bald Eagles fell in game one, 21-4, but bounced back to take game two 3-1.

LHU scored four runs off of six hits in the game one loss.

Leading the way at the plate was Tyler Yesensky (Endwell, N.Y./Old Dominion), who went 2-for-3 and drove in two runs.

Yesensky drove in Lock Haven's first run of the game in the second inning when he smacked a solo homerun to right field.  It was his first homerun as a Bald Eagle.

Yesensky was at it again when he drove in his second RBI of the game in third inning off of a double to right field.

LHU sent five different pitchers to the mound in the game and the Rams benefitted off of an 11-run fifth inning.

Lock Haven picked up its first win of the season with the 3-1 win in game two.

Freshman Parker Watson (Philipsburg, Pa./Philipsburg-Osceola) got the start on the mound for LHU and had a sensational outing as he picked up his first career win.

Watson threw all seven innings, allowing just one run on four hits and fanned four Rams.

The Bald Eagles had four hits in game two.

Leading the way at the plate was senior Jay Hartman (Lewistown, Pa./Indian Valley).

Hartman went 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Austin Botts (Seven Valleys, Pa./Wingate Univ.) went 1-for-3 with a double in the game.

The Bald Eagles are right back in action tomorrow when they battle Shepherd again in a single nine inning game.  First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
