Box Score LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University baseball team (9-12) downed local rival Bloomsburg (4-19), 17-11 this afternoon in a slugfest at a cold and windy Foundation Field.
The two teams combined for 28 runs, 35 hits and 11 different pitchers threw in the nine inning game.
Leading the way at the plate for LHU was sophomore catcher
Austin Botts (Seven Valleys, Pa./Wingate). Botts went 4-for-6 at the plate, including a homerun and a double. He drove in a game-high four RBIs and scored three runs.
Jose Diaz (Oak Ridge, N.J./Gloucester County College) also homered for The Haven, a two-run shot in the fifth inning.
Jay Hartman (Lewistown, Pa./Indian Valley) and
Tyler Yesensky (Endwell, N.Y./Old Dominion Univ.) each went 3-for-5 for The Haven.
Ryan Henritzy (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) drove in two RBIs and scored two runs for LHU.
Garrett Shnyder (Montgomery, Pa./Montgomery) picked up the win for LHU. He threw 5.1 innings and struck out six.
Lock Haven returns to action this weekend when the Bald Eagles take on Mercyhurst in a four game series. LHU hosts Mercyhurst Friday (April 5) at Foundation Field and The Haven travels to Mercyhurst on Saturday (April 6). First pitch of Friday's doubleheader is scheduled for 1 p.m.
