Men’s Soccer falls to West Chester, 3-1

Klahold’s goal not enough as LHU falls to WCU in PSAC action

Box Score LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men's soccer team (2-2, 1-2 PSAC) fell 3-1 to visiting West Chester (2-2-1, 2-1 PSAC) today in PSAC action.
 
West Chester took a 1-0 lead less than 10 minutes into the match on Connor Malarney's first of two goals on the day. The Golden Rams held that 1-0 lead at halftime.
 
Asher Klahold (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) made it 1-1 in the 53rd minute after he tucked home a perfect cross from Adam Supplee (New Holland, Pa./Garden Spot), who made a strong run down the right side.
 
Dan Venuto put West Chester ahead again in the 70th minute and Malarney's second goal of the match gave WCU the insurance it they needed.
 
Brad Sumski (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) made four saves for LHU including two sensational ones in the first half.
 
Lock Haven returns to action on Tuesday, September 24 at NYIT (4 p.m.).

Game Notes:
- LHU (opened the season last week and went 2-1. The Bald Eagles opened the year with wins at home vs. Goldey-Beacom (W, 4-2) and on the road at UPJ (W, 6-0). Lock Haven is coming off a 3-1 loss at Seton Hill on Saturday.
- Both Pitt-Johnstown and Seton Hill are new to the PSAC this year.
- Freshman Troy Amspacher made an immediate impact for the Bald Eagles scoring two goals in each of his first two matches with the team.
