PITT-JOHNSTOWN, PA. – The Lock Haven University volleyball team (16-10, 10-8 PSAC) fell to the University of Pitt-Johnstown (14-11, 10-8 PSAC), 3-1 (25-23, 14-25, 21-25, & 16-25) on the road in conference action.
The Lady Eagles battled to win the first set of the match, 25-23 but were unable to halt the Mountain Cats attack as UPJ won the next three sets to seal an, 3-1 (25-23, 14-25, 21-25, & 16-25) win.
Cody Anderson (Johnsonburg, Pa./Johnsonburg) led The Haven attack with a match-high 14 kills and added four digs.
Toryn Quivers (Mercersburg, Pa./James Buchanan) and freshman
Sarah Gomish (Ebensburg, Pa./Bishop Carroll) delivered a strong outing with eight kills, respectively. Quivers recorded a .429 hitting-percentage off 14 total attacks.
Gomish added eight digs and two aces in the loss.
Jessica Brown (Fawn Grove, Pa./Kennard-Dale) continued to have a consistent junior campaign dishing-out a match-high 31 assists and a team-high 25 digs.
Sydney Belcastro (Pittsburgh, Pa./Hopewell) was right behind Brown with 22 digs.
LHU served up six aces against the Mountain Cats.
Kendall Mahony led UPJ with 13 kills and Devan Orr recorded 34 digs.
The Lady Eagles return to action Friday, Oct. 31 when LHU hosts West Chester in conference action on the PSECU court (7 pm).
