LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men's soccer (5-10-1, 4-6 PSAC) dropped a home PSAC match today to visiting and No. 8 Mercyhurst University (15-2, 9-1 PSAC), 5-1.
 
Richard Vanhorne scored a first half hat trick and the Lakers added two second-half goals to down host-Lock Haven
 
Troy Amspacher (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) put LHU on the board in the 32^nd minute. It was his seventh goal of the season and came off an assist from Tyler Sablyak (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West).
 
Jonathan Howitt (Painted Post, N.Y./Corning Painted Post East) made three saves in the loss.
 
Vanhorne put Mercyhurst up 1-0 just 2:46 into the match and he scored again in the 20^th and 22^nd minute to stretch the lead to 3-0.
 
Amspacher's goal made it 3-1 at the break.
 
The Lakers scored twice in the second half.
 
The Bald Eagles will close out the 2014 regular season on Saturday, November 1 at 4:30 p.m.
