WEST CHESTER, PA. – The Lock Haven University volleyball team (11-5, 5-3 PSAC) downed West Chester University (11-7, 2-6 PSAC), 3-1 (25-17, 25-16, 20-25, & 25-23) on the road in conference action.
After winning two straight sets and dropping the third, The Lady Eagles rallied with a 25-23 win in the fourth set to earn a, 3-1 (25-17, 25-16, 20-25, & 25-23) victory over The Golden Rams.
The Lady Eagles were aided by an all-around Haven effort.
Leading the way in the win was
Cody Anderson (Johnsonburg, Pa/Johnsonburg) with a match-high 18 kills and a .333 hitting-percentage.
Freshman
Sarah Gomish (Ebensburg, Pa./Bishop Carroll) recorded a first double-double with 13 kills and 17 digs in the win.
Jessica Brown (Fawn Grove, Pa./Kennard-Dale) recorded 38 assists and served up 5 aces.
Defensively, the Haven halted the Golden Rams attack with four Lady Eagles recording double figures.
Veteran Bethany burns (Erie, Pa./McDowell) led LHU with 20 digs, while
Megan Flick (Howard, Pa./Bald Eagle) recorded a season-high 17 digs and added six kills in the win.
Sydney Belcastro (Pittsburgh, Pa./Hopewell) added 13 digs and Annie Dombrowksi (Altoona, Pa./Bishop Guilfoyle) recorded 11 digs.
LHU recorded 11 service aces in the win.
The Lady Eagles return to action Friday, October 10 at the PSAC Crossover hosted by Slippery Rock (2 pm).
