LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. – The Lock Haven University field hockey team lost 2-1 today at Rider in non-conference action.

The host Broncs (5-5) scored a goal in each half to take down Lock Haven (7-5) today.

The Lady Eagles got their goal from
Nakira Downes (Bridgetown, Barbados/The Combermere School) early in the second half and
Taylor Kennedy (Westmont, N.J./Haddon Township) fired off four of LHU's six shots, but it wasn't enough to help The Haven snap its skid.

Rider went up 1-0 in the 27
th minute and held the 1-0 lead at halftime.

Downes's fifth goal of the season came just 1:34 into the second half and tied the match at 1-1.

Rider scored the game-winner in the 50
th minute when Allison Baligan knocked one home.

Elaina White (Etters, Pa./Red Land) made three saves in 63-plus minutes of action in goal, before giving way to
Maddie Wagenfeld (Ambler, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham).

Lock Haven returns to action next Saturday, October 11 with a conference game at Davidson (1 p.m.).
