Offense powers #5 Lax past Findlay, 27-8

Nine Lady Eagles score in lopsided road-win; Haven improves to 2-0

Box Score FINDLAY, Ohio – The No. 5 Lock Haven University lacrosse team got goals from nine different players, including six from Taylor Klunk (Forest Hill, Md./Bel Air), as the offense powered the Lady Eagles (2-0) past host-Findlay (0-3) 27-8.
 
Kelly Hamilton (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) and Hope Thomas (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) both netted four goals, and Chelsea Borrino (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas) and Shannon Bissnette (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland) each dished out eight assists.
 
Three different Lady Eagles recorded hat tricks on the day, including Jessica Pandolf (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem North), who also added one assist. The 2013 Division II Midfielder of the Year and Tewaaraton Award "Watch List" player has eight goals through two games.
 
Lock Haven took control of the game from the opening whistle, outshooting Findlay 47-15 on the way to its second win of the young season.
 
LHU scored the first three goals of the game and led 18-3 at halftime.
 
Goalie Chrissy Baffuto (Long Valley, N.J./West Morris Central) made four saves on the way to the win.
 
Rachel Ward (Indianapolis/Bishop Chatard), who was one of three players, who recorded a hat trick, also led LHU with seven ground balls.
 
For the second game in a row, Lock Haven got another tremendous defensive effort from everyone in the lineup.
 
The Lady Eagles return to the field on Thursday, March 20 vs. No. 3 Limestone in Salem, Va. (1 p.m.).

The No. 5 Lady Eagles opened the season on Friday night at Tiffin with an 18-5 win … Jessica Pandolf had five goals in the win … Chelsea Borrino had four assists (1G & 4A) … LHU got its 18 goals from seven different players … LHU was picked as the favorite to the win the PSAC, earning eight-of-13 first-place votes in the coaches' poll … Last season, LHU went 15-3 overall and advanced to the NCAA Tournament … The Lady Eagles were 11-0 in PSAC play on the way to the regular season title … Redshirt-junior Jessica Pandolf returns to lead Lock Haven …. Following a tremendous 2013 season, Pandolf was named the Division II Midfield of the Year … Last season, she led LHU with 64 goals, which was tied for 11th best in all of Division II … Last week, Pandolf was placed on the 2014 Tewaaraton Award Watch List … The prestigious award is given annually to the nation's best collegiate male and female lacrosse player … All seven of Lock Haven's All-Conference players from last year return.
